Meet Kat!

 

Hi. I'm Kat — aesthetician, Brazilian specialist, and your friendly neighbourhood bushwhacker.

The origin story goes like this: I dropped out of art school, enrolled in beauty school, and got my aesthetics license in California in 2010. Somewhere between the two, I discovered waxing — and more specifically, I discovered that waxing is the single greatest arena for my most powerful skill: talking a lot. Turns out, if you keep someone genuinely engaged in conversation, they barely notice what's happening from the waist down. I have been exploiting this superpower professionally ever since.

Over fifteen years later, I'm based in central Nanaimo and still just as obsessed with the craft. I work with both hard and soft wax, selected by area and skin type, because technique matters — and so does your comfort. Every client gets my full attention, my honest advice, and probably a conversation that goes somewhere unexpected.

First-timers are genuinely my favourite. I know the nervous energy that walks through the door with a first appointment, and I take it seriously. You'll be walked through everything before anything happens, and I won't rush you — but I will distract you. That's the deal.

Katspaw Wax Room is built to be a space where everyone belongs. All bodies, all genders, all comfort levels. I use anatomy-first language, I follow your lead, and I check my assumptions at the door.
